Recreational League Information

The Penn-Trafford Soccer Club is happy to offer recreational soccer programs for children ranging from the U6 to U14 age classifications.  The recreational soccer program is broken down into two groupings:

In-House League: U6 and U8 players
Eagles League: U10, U12 and U14 players

More details on each league can be found below.

Both leagues utilize the US Youth Soccer age classification matrix to determine eligibility.  Age classifications are based on the player's birth year.  An age classification is valid for a full soccer season, which runs July 1st to June 30th.  The table below illustrates the current and next year classifications.

Recreational League FAQ's

When does Spring 2021 registration open?
Registration will open by February 1, 2021 and remain open until March 28, 2021.

What is the cost for recreational soccer?
The registration is $85 per player, however if you register in February you will receive a $10 early bird discount!

What is this extra $40 volunteer fee I am being charged?
The PTSC accesses each family a $40 volunteer fee once per season.  This fee can easily be refunded by performing a volunteer activity during the season.  Volunteer activities include coaching, working a 2-hour shift in the concession stand or participating in a field clean-up day.  For more information on the volunteer fee click here.

I volunteered last season so why am I still being charged the $40 volunteer fee?
If you completed a volunteer activity last season be sure to check your email for your coupon code to deduct the $40 volunteer fee.  If you did not get an email please email us at [email protected] and we'll be glad to help!

What is this $3 service fee?
Our website provider (sports connect) charges a $3 service fee for each transaction (registration).  The PTSC does not get this fee it covers the cost of the website and the online payment system.

How many weeks is the season?

The Spring 2021 season will be 8 weeks long.

What do we need to get our kids to be ready to play?
All players will be required to have an age appropriate ball (Size 3 for U6/U8, Size 4 for U10/U12, Size 5 for U14), shin guards and appropriate shoes (soccer spikes are suggested but not required, however baseball spikes are not permitted).

I have some old equipment that is in good condition, is there anything I can do with it?
Yes!  You can bring any shoes, shin guards or balls to the concession stand and they will be added to our "Play it Forward" program.  This program allows those who need items to take what they need.

What days will my child have practice?
Recreational players practice one night a week.  While we won't know the exact date/time until closer to the start of the season, typically recreational players practice on Monday or Wednesday night.

What is the PT Training Academy and what is Beadling Soccer?
The PT Training Academy is our training program for our youngest players.  All U6 and U8 players have the opportunity to attend the weekly academy training where we'll utilize a station based rotation to work on skills each week.  These sessions are run by our PTSC coaches and staff in conjunction with the Beadling Soccer Club.  Beadling is one of Western Pennsylvania's premier cup programs and we're proud to bring our PT players the same great training curriculum that beadling offers in their academy training at no additional cost.

In-House League

The In-House Recreational League is developmental in nature with the focus on helping U6 and U8 players grow as soccer players.  Weekly academy style training is included for all players to help advance the core skills of dribbling, passing and shooting among other concepts.  Games for U6 players are held on Saturday mornings while U8 games are held Saturday afternoons.  All games are held at the Bushy Run Soccer Complex.

League play occurs in both the fall and the spring with each season requiring a separate registration.  In addition to league play, special skills sessions may be held during the off season for additional training.
